The very definition of a sleeper par three, the 5th hole seems innocuous from its elevated tee pad, but boasts one of the more treacherous greens at Mornington.
With a nest of 3 bunkers on the right side of this green, the temptation for many is to pull their tee shot safely to the left. Unfortunately, missing the 5th green on the high left side can leave you with a very difficult, sidehill chip shot. Leaving your ball beyond the hole can also be trouble, as putts down the hill are extremely quick.
Although it may be easier said than done for many, positioning your tee ball under the hole here will give you a healthy advantage over your playing partners.
