Once the formalities of the AGM concluded, we took the opportunity to recognise a number of outstanding contributors to our Club community.
Our Club President, Gary Millen, officially stepped down after four highly successful years leading the Board. Gary leaves Mornington Golf Club in an exceptionally strong position, and his steady leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the Club will be long remembered. We thank Gary sincerely for his service and wish him all the very best.
We also acknowledged Director, Heather Mushet, who retires from the Board after four years of dedicated contribution. Heather’s insight, energy, and support have been greatly valued, and she will be missed around the Board table.
A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of two hand-drawn sketches by Trevor Morrison, who each year honours members or staff who have made a significant impact on the Club. This year’s recipients were Sue Evans, former Women’s Captain and our unofficial calligrapher, and Alison James, our long-serving Finance Manager. Both Sue and Alison have given extraordinary service to Mornington Golf Club, and they were each presented with a beautifully framed sketch created by Trevor.
Congratulations to Sue and Alison on this well-deserved recognition, and a heartfelt thank you to Trevor for once again capturing the spirit of our people through his remarkable talent.

DemoOpening Day, Sponsored by the Life Members – Sunday 11 January 2026
Dear Member,
2025 is almost behind us and incredibly we are only five weeks away from the Opening Day event which officially opens the 2026 golfing season.
Golf doesn’t sleep!
We are now taking entries for this fantastic event which will be played on Sunday 11 January.
The event, which is generously sponsored by The Life Members of MGC, consists of lunch at 11.30am and a 12.30pm shotgun start.
The Life Members Trophy is a handicap event over 18 holes of Mixed Canadian Foursomes stroke play.
Normal club handicaps apply and the team play off a handicap of three-eighths of the combined handicaps. Both players in the team tee off on each hole, one of the two balls is selected and that ball is then played by the players alternate shot by shot until holed.
Entry forms can be found in the Golf Shop and Club Office.
Please return the completed form with payment to the GOLF SHOP. We will then add your names to the timesheet.
