With 2026 only just around the corner, entries for the following competitions are now open.

• President’s Trophy

The entry sheet for the President’s Trophy and the Mornington Putter can be found on the Golf Shop counter. 

Entry forms for the MacGamble Trophy can be collected from the Golf Shop or the main office.  Please return the completed form with the $20 payment to the Golf Shop.

The 2025 Men’s Presentation evening featuring The Champions Dinner will be held on Friday 5 December starting at 5.30pm with the 36 Hole Mornington Putter Final.

The evening will progress to the Tallis Room where we will celebrate the men’s golfing season and be entertained by one of Australia’s finest comedians, Des Dowling.

It promises to be a night to remember and one not to be missed.

Congratulations to Luke McKeown on winning the latest round of the Tar Barrel Twilight 9’s competition.  Luke’s fantastic 24 points was just enough to win by 1 point!

Overall Ken Coombes leads the way with a 2 shot lead over second placed, Carolyn Ive.

One of the Club’s most popular social events is back – the Tar Barrel Twilight 9s, proudly sponsored by Matt Bebe and Tar Barrel Brewery & Distillery!

This fun-filled Friday evening 9-hole competition runs across 7 Stableford rounds from October through to April. The overall winner will be determined by the best 4 scores from the 7 rounds.

One of the best and most enjoyable days on the golfing calendar returns in just 11 weeks time!

After the success of last years event we are not only planning for one of the most fun and enjoyable days on the golfing calendar but we are, once again, going to be raising funds for the blood cancer, Myeloma Australia. 

Myeloma has affected a number of members at the Club and has indirectly affected the founder of the Hawaiian Day, Gary Millen.  Gary’s wife is battling the disease hence why Gary wanted link his day with this fundraising opportunity. Earlier this year we raised $20K for the charity, this year we want to raise even more!

There will be amazing prizes, auctions, on course fun and games and much more. 

Saturday 10 January 2026 is the date for the event. Get your entries in fast as this will fill up really quick. Book early to secure the best tees!!

in 2026 we will be back playing in 4’s.  You can download the entry form HERE and return to the Golf Shop with the $100 payment for the team which includes entry fee and BBQ.  Staff will then put you on the timesheet. 

100% of the entry fee goes to Myeloma Australia.

The event is open to 7 day members only at this stage.  If there is space we will open it up to other membership categories.

We would greatly appreciate any contribution you were able to provide for the day, whether it be a voucher for a raffle/silent auction or prize donation. 

We are also offering the following sponsorship opportunities:

$700 hole sponsorship: includes your business signage (organised by MGC) on the tee for the day and promotion on our website and social media.

$800 NTP on Par 3’s: includes business signage (organised by MGC) on the tee for the day and promotion on our website and social media and $160 prize to the winner. 

All sponsors will receive a voucher for four with carts at Mornington to be used any time in the future, as a gesture of appreciation. 

We will create a Sponsors Page that details all the sponsors who have agreed to donate.

Dear Member, 

I am delighted to announce the appointment of PGA Professional, Ollie Woj to our teaching/coaching ranks here at MGC.  While Ollie will be available for individual lessons he can’t wait to get started on Clinics for Juniors and Women and also creating a fun pathway to golf and membership.

Ollie, along with long time MGC Professional Michael Faraone now form a fantastic coaching team here at the Club.  We are incredibly lucky to have retained the teaching services of Michael and now with Ollie on board, MGC really is the place to come to improve your game.

Repairing pitch marks on our greens is vital to the health and condition of the turf and to ensure the best possible putting surface for all golfers.

During winter our greens are more susceptible to pitch marks as they are softer so we tend to see more and deeper pitch marks appearing on our greens. 

It is very important that all members play their part in making sure they repair their own pitch mark and any others that have been left unrepaired.

A two minute clip showing the best technique for repairing pitch marks can be seen below.

If we all work together we can make our golf course better.
