The MGC Future Fund Golf Day on Saturday 20 December is just around the corner and we have a fantastic number of entrants to date.

The good news is that we are now opening the day up to all of our 5 and 6 day members, so get your team together and enter it at the Golf Shop today.

This day was very successful in 2024, raising funds for the MGC Future Fund.  Great prizes, bbq lunch and a lot of fun!

2025 is almost behind us and incredibly we are only five weeks away from the Opening Day event which officially opens the 2026 golfing season.  

Golf doesn’t sleep!

We are now taking entries for this fantastic event which will be played on Sunday 11 January.

The event, which is generously sponsored by The Life Members of MGC, consists of lunch at 11.30am and a 12.30pm shotgun start.

​The Life Members Trophy is a handicap event over 18 holes of Mixed Canadian Foursomes stroke play.
Normal club handicaps apply and the team play off a handicap of three-eighths of the combined handicaps. Both players in the team tee off on each hole, one of the two balls is selected and that ball is then played by the players alternate shot by shot until holed.

Entry forms can be found in the Golf Shop and Club Office.

Please return the completed form with payment to the GOLF SHOP.  We will then add your names to the timesheet.

With only 5 weeks until our 2026 Bendigo Bank Hawaiian Golf Day, we’re we’re still seeking sponsors for the big day! 

As you all know, our Hawaiian Golf Day has become one of the most enjoyable and anticipated events in our golfing calendar. For the second year, the event will proudly support Myeloma Australia. Myeloma has touched the lives of several of our Club members, including Robyn Clark, Alan Wood, Geoff Nyssen and Trevor Schoenmaekers. It has also impacted the founder of the Hawaiian Day, Gary Millen, whose wife is currently battling the disease. This connection makes the fundraising aspect of the day even more meaningful.

We would be grateful for any contribution your business is able to provide, whether it be a voucher for our raffle or silent auction, or a prize donation.

We are also offering the following sponsorship opportunities:
• $700 Hole Sponsorship – includes business signage (organised by MGC) on the tee for the day, plus promotion on our website and social media.
• $800 Nearest the Pin (Par 3) Sponsorship – includes business signage (organised by MGC) on the tee for the day, promotion on our website and social media, and a $160 prize for the winner.

We’re excited to partner with Myeloma Australia again for this important event and hope to raise even more than the $19,560 raised in 2025!

Pictured are two of Mornington Golf Club’s finest: Graeme Littlejohn and John Forrester who today received presentations from our General Manager, Craig Murdoch. 

Graeme has served with Dads Army for over 21 years, whereas John has achieved 25 years!

Graeme’s expertise with the front end loader and John’s tractor skills, not to mention their thousands of hours of labour have been pivotal in assisting the Ground Staff in the process of maintaining and improving our Golf Course.

They have been remarkable contributors to the Golf Club and wonderful members of the group.

They would encourage any recently retired member to consider joining them on a Tuesday or Thursday… just to lessen the load!

Dear Members,

The 17th Annual Ladies Classic will be played on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th of January 2026, 8:00am shotgun start on both days. 

The Ladies Classic organisers are seeking volunteers to assist on the day with bunker raking, ball spotting and more.

If you are able to assist please contact the Office team or organiser Betty Dahm on 0457 597 731 with your availability. 

All volunteers will be provided with snacks and refreshments during the day.

Congratulations to Luke McKeown on winning the latest round of the Tar Barrel Twilight 9’s competition.  Luke’s fantastic 24 points was just enough to win by 1 point!

Overall Ken Coombes leads the way with a 2 shot lead over second placed, Carolyn Ive.

One of the Club’s most popular social events is back – the Tar Barrel Twilight 9s, proudly sponsored by Matt Bebe and Tar Barrel Brewery & Distillery!

This fun-filled Friday evening 9-hole competition runs across 7 Stableford rounds from October through to April. The overall winner will be determined by the best 4 scores from the 7 rounds.
