The September Men’s Medal was contested on Saturday in absolutely perfect spring conditions, with sunshine, light breezes and the course presented in excellent shape.
A large field of members took to the fairways, all chasing the honour of adding their name to the Medal winners’ list and, of course, the bonus prize of a case of Tar Barrel’s finest beers.
After plenty of great golf across the day, one member rose well above the rest. Congratulations to Rick Platenkamp, who produced a brilliant round of golf, carding a sensational Nett 66. His outstanding performance saw him blitz the field and claim the coveted Medal in style.
