The sun shone brightly over Mornington on Tuesday, providing a perfect setting for the Women’s Centenary Trophy. This much-loved event, played as a foursomes competition, is always keenly contested with the best Nett score securing the coveted trophy.
This year’s winners were Cindy Leatham and Pat Sims, producing a superb Nett 75.875 to take out the title. The victory was particularly meaningful for Cindy, whose beloved husband and fellow member, Bob Leatham, sadly passed away earlier this month. There was a sense that Bob’s spirit was close by, watching over Cindy and guiding her and Pat to their wonderful achievement.
Our heartfelt congratulations go to Cindy and Pat on their outstanding performance and memorable triumph.
Runners-up on the day were Marg Blackmore and Kate Philip with a very commendable Nett 78.125.
