The famous Faraone Finish….

When Michael Faraone informed us that he was resigning from his position as Club Professional, the Board asked him how he would like to farewell the members.
Michael had a simple request, to play a “final” round with the members on a Saturday.
Saturday 20 April was set as the day we would Farewell Faraone. The weather was perfect, and the field was full, Michael was ready to play. Michael was playing with past Captain, Craig Corfield, Past President, Dave Cornell and GM, Craig Murdoch.
At presentations, Craig Corfield, Rob Cooper and President, Gary Millen said some very special words about Michael’s wonderful 17 year tenure at the Club. The Board decided to award Michael the very special honour of Honorary Membership at MGC. Michael made an emotionally charged, heartfelt speech to thank the Club for the gift and the members for their support. Michaels wife Julie and his kids were there to watch the presentations, which was lovely to see.
It was a very special moment and the end of a very special era at Mornington Golf Club.
Thank you, good luck and farewell Michael, you will be missed.
