GOLF CART STORAGE SHED – Debentures available
The commencement of the building of the new Cart Shed is imminent with trees having been removed in preparation. The plan is to extend the existing Pro Shop to create space for approximately 30 carts which will be a mix of Members and Club owned carts.
The Club has already received a significant portion of the estimated project cost through Members purchasing Debentures which was greatly appreciated.
The Debentures are still available to purchase for $5,000 each and will be repaid to members over a period of time along with a small interest component.
Members who have contributed to the project by purchasing Debentures will be guaranteed a spot in the new Cart Shed. It is not a requirement for Debenture holders to store a cart in the shed and Members can simply purchase Debentures to assist the Club with the funding.
The Club is very keen to fully fund the project solely from the sale of the Debentures so if any members are interested in contributing towards the Golf Cart Storage Shed project please contact me for more information.

Handheld and Watch GPS distance issues – UPDATE
Sureshot have advised that they have remapped the course and that it is now available for users to download to Sureshot units
Any member with a handheld or watch version of a Golf Buddy or Garmin will be aware that the new 18th and the 19th hole is still yet to feature on these devices.
What you will also find is that the device will default to the ‘old’ 18th green which is 25m longer than the new 18th green.
Please keep this in mind when you are hitting into the green so as not to overshoot.
We will post another update as soon as we hear from Golf Buddy and Garmin regarding the remapping of the course.
Downloading courses via WINDOWS – New Sureshotgps Website –
To Download/Update, you firstly need to have sureanalysis loaded onto your pc. To do this go to our website Sureshotgps.com, top menu select mysureshotgps > Download Courses > click appropriate Operating System > then software download for your model & install (do not connect the unit to the pc).
Once that has been done, turn the unit on and connect to the pc, Close/Minimise all open Windows, Find & open/double click Sureanalysis icon on your desktop > Click Download Courses and follow prompts. The system should go through the connection process and bring up a new screen where you can update the courses on the unit.
** On preloaded models – If updating a course, delete old course first then load new course data. (Do not delete all course data from the unit, only delete & update courses you play) (Except on 9000/9500 units, will overwrite data only) **
Try not to use course names – When searching in the sureanalysis program – Select All Mapped Courses, Country and State and then Search, then scroll down the list on the left to find your course.
TIP – To find the most recent course double click the course on the left hand column to view date of mapping.
Outdoor Terrace Area – Smoking regulations – reminder
On 1 August 2017 new Government legislation was introduced regarding smoking in and close to areas that are utilised for dining.
The new legislation affected Mornington Golf Club and as a result we had to create an area that could be used for smoking, 4 metres from the edge of where food is consumed.
The area we created was beyond the planter boxes as detailed in the above photo.
This meant that strictly NO SMOKING was permitted on the side of the planter boxes closer to the Clubhouse and includes the covered veranda area. These areas have been clearly marked with signage.
It is important that these rules are followed at all times as there are heavy fines that can be handed out to the Club and also to anyone who is caught breaking the rules.
Staff have been asked to monitor this and will be advising any one who is seen smoking in the non smoking areas to refrain from doing so. Members assistance with enforcing these rules would be greatly appreciated by staff, Management and the Board.
