Pennant Match Report – Round 5
The Div.1 boys went to Rosebud CC last weekend looking to take out last year’s Flag Winners on their home track … It was a great day for golf and our Selectors- The Iceman and Gazza were quietly hoping the chosen Team could deliver against a very strong Rosebud outfit. After some solid performances across the board, we, unfortunately, finished with a 6/1 loss to the home team. Our position after the five rounds secured us a finals spot and another chance to take on Rosebud as we finished 3rd and they finished 2nd on the ladder.
One of the highlights of Round 5 was that Chessy notched up another impressive win making it 4 wins from 4 starts. Even though we lost to Rosebud at their home track some positives moving ahead were that of the 7 games played we lost 2 on the 19th, 1 on the 18th and 2 on the 17th holes … (so close but no chocolates) … Rosebud though are definitely beatable.
It’s been an awesome effort so far this season from 11players who’ve all helped to win some impressive matches during Rounds 1-5 . … A loss always helps the fire in the belly and I’m 100% sure the ‘Bushwood Spirit” will be peaking this weekend as we travel down the Peninsula to Portsea GC to lift even further and take out Rosebud on the tricky Portsea track … Thank-you to all the players for their contribution so far and let’s see if we can get up this week and get into the Final to have another chance to chase the Flag in 2019 … “Go Bushwood”.
A big thank-you once again to our awesome sponsors MORNINGTON HOLDEN / PENINSULA HONDA and TWIN BAYS PAINTING J
