Hole 12

The 12th is a strong par four with its tees located on the bank of the club’s main water storage dam. The hole enjoys a lovely bay backdrop, and features a downhill tee shot played to a wide fairway that is angled from left to right.

The key feature of this hole is not the angled fairway or the bay views however, it’s a rather nasty green site with some confounding internal contours and difficult surrounding bunkers.

The 12th green is a long, undulating target nestled into the side of a small bank. It can be approached directly or by bouncing your ball off slopes on the left. Finding any of the four bunkers is a problem, as is airmailing a green that falls away sharply at the rear.

For those who find the putting surface there are depressions and swales to contend with, along with breaks that seem to defy gravity. Reading putts correctly here on the 12th takes considerable skill, and plenty of local knowledge.
